I have been collecting Topps baseball cards since I was a kid. I created this site to share my favorite cards from my collection and all of the wax packs I bust. I will also be commenting on my thoughts about card collecting and baseball.
This blog is for collectors of Topps baseball cards
New Product - 2008 Series #1 Baseball?
I haven’t finished reflecting on the 2007 products, and 2008 Series #1, is just around the corner (02/06/2008). Even with me only collecting Topps baseball products, looking back at 2007 it still seems like there are too many products. I have limited funds like most people. I would like to see only 15 major releases in 2008, not 20 like in 2007.

I still long for the days of 4 or 5 base sets, and a corresponding update/traded set for each…back to the 1980s/early 1990s. They were cheap, mass-produced, and everyone had a chance to pull their favorite cards/players. No overpriced “chase” cards and such.
I’m like JT, I wish the set count would drop to at a maximum 3 per card company. You can read my state of the industry post on my site, I go into a lot of detail there.
Is it just me or has Manny been working on making his signature better?
It has gotten out of control. I would like to see 2 modern base sets like Bowman and Topps. Then 2 retro sets like Allen & Ginter and Turkey Red. Then a Chrome like Bowman or Topps. And finally a couple of premium products like Finest and Moments & Milestones. That would be plenty.
